TABLE LAMP

Curt Fischer applies with his company Midgard as the inventor of the 'steerable light'. He developed in the late 1910s first 'steering lamps' which already match the favor of Walter Gropius at the Bauhaus in the beginning of the 20's and was therefore used there. Curt Fischer revolutionized with his lamps the market who only knew static light, without any possibility of adjustment. Among his most famous designs include the 'whip lamp' type 113, 'hinge lamp' type 114 and the 'spring-loaded lamp' and as well the 'machine lamp' with maintenance-free joints.

Steel tube: nickel plated Shield: Steel sheet pressed by hand and enamelled • Rotary switch on lampshade: porcelain and bakelite • Textile cable

The whip lamp is made entirely of metal. The strut, joint connectors, as well as the lamp shade are plastic-free and are installed in Hamburg by hand.
