A distinction for Hager Group Design with Berker R.8

It was no doubt the remarkable super flat switch features of the new Berker R.8 range that won over the jury members for this German Design Gold Award.

Perfectly proportioned, the Berker R.8 Series switches are exact geometric shapes with high-quality surfaces. They are notable for their extremely flat design – a wall mounting height of only 3mm. The elements interlock with each other so precisely such that barely a groove is to be seen.

The use of genuine materials such as glass, aluminium and stainless steel creates authentic tactility, and even the way the switches click speaks volumes about the product’s superb quality. The R.8 is the best choice to underline a minimalist and modern interior design.

The German Design Award: this award is the top international prize from the German Design Council. Its ambition is to discover, present and honour unique design trends. As such, it is one of the most well-respected design competitions in the world and is held in high regard in and beyond professional circles.

The Gold winner: with just one Gold award winner selected by the jury in each category, it honours outstanding achievements in international design and is given only to the best of the best.

The Jury stated that “...the new Berker R.8 Series switches is an extremely beautiful line of switches which, as a product family, revisits a classic design concept in a surprisingly new way and that blends harmoniously into various architectural environments.”
